1. What kind of microphone do I need?

You can try your laptop microphone but expect your accuracy to drop significantly.

Luckily you don't need an expensive microphone. We recommend all USB microphones, Sennheiser PC 7 is a well tested and all around budget option. Try to use a mic with noise cancellation or high directivity. XLR microphones are also a good choice but they are pricy.

2. I care about my privacy. How much does BenASR collects data?

While we are deeply integrated with the OS and in future we plan to integrate more to offer better user experience, we do not collect your private data nor send them off your machine.

3. What does ASR stand for?

ASR stands for "Automatic Speech Recognition" which is a common phrase for voice engine in the industry and speech recognition literatures. BenASR is the short from of Benjamin Automatic Speech Recognition Engine.
