1. What kind of microphone do I need?

You can try your laptop microphone but expect your accuracy to drop significantly.

Luckily you don't need an expensive microphone. We recommend all USB microphones, Sennheiser PC 7 is a well tested and all around budget option. Try to use a mic with noise cancellation or high directivity. XLR microphones are also a good choice but they are pricy.

2. What license should I purchase?

We like to make sure you only pay when you really need the plan. We recommend to start with our free license first. Try to train a model, get used to how things work. If that works on your PC and you like the accuracy and speed then move to the "Basic" plan(should cost less than 15$). After a while when you become a more pro and feel the need for more advanced features we recommend a pro or higher license.

3. My budget is high, what license do you suggest?

We offer premium support to premium users. Please purchase a premium license and contact us to support you on your specific need/software. We offer customization and further assistance for our premium customer based on their profile.

4. I care about my privacy. How much does BenASR collects data?

While we are deeply integrated with the OS and in future we plan to integrate more, we do not collect your private data nor send them off your machine.

5. What does ASR stand for?

ASR stands for "Automatic Speech Recognition" which is a common phrase for voice engine in the industry and speech recognition literatures. BenASR is the short from of Benjamin Automatic Speech Recognition Engine.
